Who We Are
Slotstars is an independent editorial publication founded in 2022 with one purpose: to give players honest, verified, comparative analysis of the leading regulated online casino operators. Our editorial office is located in the heart of the City of London, at 30 St Mary Axe, which gives us direct access to the UK Gambling Commission, industry events, and the legal and compliance teams of every major operator we review.
Our Editorial Mission
The online casino space is crowded with sites that simply rephrase operator marketing copy. Slotstars exists to do the opposite. Every review on slot-stars.io is grounded in real deposits, real withdrawals, real customer support tests and real KYC submissions. If we cannot verify a claim ourselves, we do not publish it. If a claim later proves wrong, we publish a correction in 48 working hours and tag the article with a visible erratum at the foot of the page.
How We Verify Operators
Each review on Slotstars passes through a three-stage protocol. In stage one, a writer opens a real account at the operator under review using their own funds, completes KYC verification and runs a minimum of 50 documented gameplay sessions. Stage two requires at least one full withdrawal cycle, with timed support contacts at both peak and off-peak hours. Stage three is editorial cross-review, where an independent editor checks every figure against UKGC public records and operator licence registers before publication.
Licence numbers, RTP figures and payout times are re-verified quarterly. Any review that goes more than six months without a refresh is automatically flagged for re-testing.
Our Team
The Slotstars editorial team brings more than 20 years of combined experience in iGaming journalism, operator analysis and compliance verification. Marcus Reed, our senior editor, has spent the last 12 years covering UK-licensed casinos and slot mechanics, with previous roles at industry titles before founding Slotstars. Alongside him are three senior writers with prior backgrounds at UKGC-regulated operators, which gives the team an inside view of how the sector actually operates day to day.
Editorial Independence
Slotstars is funded exclusively through standard affiliate agreements. Affiliate rates are identical for every operator listed on the site, which removes any commercial incentive to favour one brand over another. No operator can buy a positive review, alter a rating, or have a critical review removed. When an operator falls below our minimum standards on payouts, support or security, it is removed from the site regardless of the financial impact.
Any potential conflict of interest is documented at the foot of the relevant article. If a writer has a previous working relationship with an operator under review, another team member takes the byline. This rotation policy is audited externally each year and the audit results are published on a dedicated transparency page.
Industry Affiliations
Slotstars maintains active relationships with several industry and regulatory bodies. We are observer members of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), follow the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) advertising standards, and participate in Global Betting Group (GBG) working sessions on data integrity. These affiliations involve continuous training for our writers and a duty to report malpractice we identify in any listed operator.
Why Trust Slotstars
Trust is earned one publication at a time. Since 2022, we have published verifiable reviews, openly corrected our mistakes when readers spot them, and kept an open channel with the audience that holds us accountable. If you find an error in any article, write to editorial@slot-stars.io and we will correct it within 48 working hours, with a visible erratum at the foot of the affected piece.
